You will be accompanied by a certified guide specialized in environmental interpretation and ecotourism, who will explain in detail the process the monarch butterfly undergoes to reach the pine and oyamel forests in Michoacán.

Depart early and avoid large crowds. Observe and enjoy the different behaviors of the monarch butterflies at their refuge, from their awakening in clusters hanging from the trees to their flight as they warm up in the sunlight*.

*Please note that butterfly activity depends on factors such as temperature and favorable weather conditions for flight. In case of rain or snow, the tour may be cancelled or postponed by the company prior to departure, without any penalty for travelers or the company. In such cases, the reservation holder will be contacted to reschedule or request a refund.

Yes. This tour will be booked exclusively to you and your party.

Pick up is included and where?

Yes. We will pick you at any hotel, Airbnb or private residence in Morelia City. Please note that pick up time may be different to the tour starting time depending on pick up location.

Do I need to be in good physical condition?

Yes. We ask that you let us know in advance if you would like the vegan/vegetarian option so that we can include it in the preparation.

Is horse riding service included?

No. This service is hired directly from the horse owners inside the reserve. Please note that payment must be made in cash. The cost per ride is $170 MXN per person.

The horses are guided at all times by their owners, so you won’t need to worry about leading the horse yourself along the trail.

Should I pay for the entrance fees?

No. All entrance fees are covered by the rate you previously paid.

Is it possible to change the places to visit?

No. The places listed in the itinerary have been tested for quality and timing; therefore, the visit schedule cannot be modified.
